I have an 18 month old female Siamese cat named Belle who was abandoned by our neighbors when they lost their house to foreclosure a year and a half ago. I've been a cat lover for the past 15 years and have two other female cats in the family who have both been spayed. Belle has not. Belle is one of those unique kitties who loves everybody and therefor goes up to anybody no matter who you are. In other words she'd go up to Frankenstein if they crossed paths.About two months ago Belle was seeing a lot of boyfriends that came into our yard and the obvious kept going on quite a bit. It happened a year before, too, but Belle was too young to get pregnant. Our other two female cats never had no interest whatsoever in what Belle was doing and they are both 8 and fifteen years old.
For the past 3 or 4 weeks now the most ugly, grossest sac of skin has been growing underneath Belle's tummy with absolutely no fur on it. As time has gone on it has gotten bigger. Before anyone here begins to think the V word let me say that I am disabled, without much money and no transportation to get me to a vet. So in the back of my mind I've been hoping that it would either go away or that Belle's pregnant, which is something that I can't even think about it. I am a responsible pet owner, at least to the best of my ability, and I have my hands full taking care of elderly parents at home in their eighties. All three of us are just trying to make it the best way we can with absolutely no help from relatives or my eldest sibling in Florida.
The sac on Belle is getting so large that we may have to end up getting a neighbor to take me to the vet to have it checked out and then somehow deal with the bill. We all love this cat and we want to do what's right for her.
The thing is is that I don't think Belle is pregnant. As a child I had other pets like rabbits and other animals, and Bell's "problem" doesn't appear to be pregnancy. I think that because I would think that if Belle were pregnant there would be fur all over this extended part of Belle's tummy rather than this gross-looking, pink bubble-gum type bubble just hanging from underneath.
Belle does not appear to be in any pain or suffering which is why I have allowed this to go on as long as I have. But it's getting bigger, more noticable and when my father finally saw it today he said, "That looks bad."
Like I said I don't think Belle is pregnant. But I thought I would come on here and ask if anyone might have an answer. If Belle is pregnant and about to give birth the timing is about right after her courtships with other male cats two months ago. But on the other hand the sac looks like something else, like a cow's stomach that just hangs there.
My thanks in advance and please be gentle.
