I work as a veterinary nurse. The other day I took over on an anesthetized cat, and when I was doing that I forgot to do something with the anesthetic machine that cause excessive pressure to build up in the circuit. The cat died from this. I feel so stupid for making such a stupid mistake. I've been doing this job for 5 years and this is the first time this has ever happened. I feel so terrible, not for me, but for the owners, the veterinarian I work under, and the practice. I was bawling and puking after this happened. I don't know if I'll have a job come next week. And I'm scared what is coming my way when I come into the office again. Any advice?
