Take your dog to the vet. Fungus typically is an infection of some sort, and depending how thick it is your animal may be harboring mites or other insects under the infection. You definitely want to clean it as well as you can, but a vet can give you topical preparations to cure the fungal infection.

Yes I would definately get your dog to the vet. It could get lots worse and eventually flies will lay eggs and maggots will make it lots worse.

Those ear problems are typical of Germans and cleaning is necessary. The schmutz can clog their ears and affect their hearing and if left alone it could cause the animal to go deaf. If you tske your dog to a groomer regularly most of them know how to clean the dogs ears and that helps. There is also drops you can get from the vet to help keep it under control. But mine was fine with regular cleaning until he got really old.
