'Dog in bad Health'

My dog is losing weight fast and his gums are black. He will only eat human food and the cat's food. No one can find anything wrong with him. He has lost so much weight you can see all his bones. He is still very active but no one can seem to find out why he is losing so much weight. Any suggestions to make him better will be appreciated.
