Dog been clearing his throat alot

Thank author of this post/commentOur dog recently has been clearing his throat alot, like he has a fur ball! LOL I'm concerned that there may be something stuck in his throat. Is this normal for dogs?

Vet says toy pomeranian(8lbs) may have a narrowed trechea.Is dog able to be helped by an operation or? Also vet wants to put dog under anathesia to clean teeth. Would this be life-threatening?

my dog i belive has a candie wrapper from a pepperment candie in his throat for he was in the trash and soon after has been trying to clear his throat you can tell by the noise he makes there may be somthing there is he trys to bark ect he starts with the noise & trying to clear the throat.can you help me is there somthing we can do or us to help him at home.

You should take him to the vet. That's all I'm going to say.

This can be many things, including:

Collapsed trachea

Allergies

Infection

Dog flu

It is best to take your dog to the vet asap to have tests run.
