My boxer who i have talked about previosly has gotten a part of his paw almost skinned how should i treat this.

I would sugest you take him to your local veternarian.

If you haven't sought veterinary aid for him, I hope you have sprayed it with a styptic spray for animals. They have some over the counter at Walmart and Target type places. Usually this has hydrocortisone in it and some numbing agent safe for pets. You may also want to consider some type of antibiotic ointment, although on a paw it is going to be hard to get him not to lick it off.

Betadine, and QUICK! Unlike hydrogen peroxide it doesn't fizzle and it doesn't hurt and it is safe to use on all animals. If you can get him to sit still in the sink or tub then pour it on the wound directly as soon as possible. After that you can soak aome of the fabric tape from a first aid kit in it and tape it over the wound. Over a few hours the tapes adhesive will lose it's stickiness from being wet, but while it sticks it'll protect the wounded area. If you have those booties that atually stay put on a dog put one over the tape to keep it on as long as you can.

Betadine is great. I have used it on all kinds of animals to help disinfect and clean various kinds of wounds and the animals don't mind it a bit. The only animals it doesn't help are birds that have been bitten by cats. There is some kind of bacteria in the cats saliva that gets into the birds bloodstream and even if they get away they often die. For that you have to use Hydrogen Peroxide as soon as possible and try to keep the wound moist with it so it can kill those bacteria. Even so, bird rescuers say that its 50/50 depending on how fast you get to the wound.

First aid will always be a first aid. See your local veterinarian for a more safer decision to keep the life of your dog. How did your dog's paw almost got skinned? Prevention is still better than cure right? One of the best first aid I can suggest. don't let any sharp edge objects lying on the floor. It is a preemptive measure for both humans and animals in the house from accidents. Just imagine if you're dog almost got a skinned paw what more will happen if you've invited your active 2-5 year old niece.

My grand dog seems to have hurt his paw, and on my Watch, and he isn't very active. He rests quite a lot. He will jump up onto the chair, but will favor that back right leg when standing, lifting it. He has eaten, but would rather sit in my lap and continue being spoiled. I'm doing my best to honor that wish. There is no redness, swelling nor any apparent cut. Ant suggestions?

"Lov animals...."

Nice suggestions given by all users. I would only say that weather it was a human being or any pet everyone needs cure and love. And will injury all needs first aid at time, to cure them from many kinds of other harms and problems. As few time ago i had lost my pet too, suddenly he got accident and i don't know how to treat him, and while taking him to hospital he has died. I fell very sorry, and still from that i had decided to know full about First Aid, so that it can't be repeated any more. so Please visit www.gotoaid.com and upgrade your knowledge about First aid steps, as i have done. This website has helped me a lot and i want that you will also get benefited from it.
