(RSS Feed) - Instead of using the restrictive 'lamp shade collar' or the Velcro strapped booties that just fall off, there is now an alternative to cover your pets legs that is much more mobile, securely strapped and comfortable for them. Comment #2 Jane Dog-Lover (63.176.159.151) - If you really love your dogs then why will you chain your dogs anyway? I have three dogs and I don't like putting collars on them, I don't accessorized my pets as well. I just let them as they are, warm and cuddly. Comment #3 rita (63.176.159.38) - Know what you can actually make your own lampshade collar. I have here the instructions Comment #4 Eve (63.176.159.246) - Hey! that trackball idea is pretty nifty. I guess those dogs need not feel uncomfortable now more, unless it I absolutely necessary that their movement be restricted by way of those irritating lamp shade covers. Comment #5 Lester (63.176.159.123) - Fri Jan 8 21:05:57 2010 So that is what those lampshade collars are for. I have often wondered what were they for until just recently as I watched an episode of Inside Edition where a family dog saved his master from the attack of a vicious cougar. The boy thought it would be his last but thankfully their loyal dog came to the rescue and defended the boy from the attack of the wild beast. Miraculously, the dog survived the attack, while the cougar was shot to death by the local enforcer who came to the rescue. The dog was wearing a lampshade collar in order to avoid him from scratching and infecting his recuperating wounds. Comment #6 Ardette (63.176.159.198) - Wed Feb 3 21:02:35 2010 You see these "dog lamp shade collars" are not worn for them to make man's best friend feel uncomfortable or even inflict torture to the loyal pets. These lampshade collars are only applied to dogs whom acquired major external injuries from either accidents or attacks. Their purpose is to avoid further infection for it is innate to dogs to scratch their wounds off and we all know that their paws are everywhere. So it is an essential tool to be prepared in case of pet emergencies. Comment #7 Sammy (109.111.97.235) - Tue Mar 2 07:33:08 2010 Good thing there are good stuffs out there for pets in case they are in this kind of emergencies and injuries. I am also interested in learning more about the ways to lessen the chance that may dog may got hurt so he wont have to wear those collars. We love our pet dog and I am sure that my kids will be sad when our little pet got injured. • Page 1 (Original Post) •
