| The ugly duklingI had a wonderful experience the other day. My friend said that she wanted a pet, a dog to be exact, and asked me if I knew a place to get one, free.I had heard of the neighborhood animal shelter where I knew that they kept a good amount of animals during a time span to see if people would take them away, after which, if not, they were quietly disposed of painlessly. So we got in the car and drove down there. My friend said, before going in, that she would choose the ugliest, raunchiest, skiniest, and most flee infested dog she could find. It sounded like she had a premonition, because she found just that. A brown critter with all the attributes. Well, she took it home and had him treated by a vet. A couple of months have gone by and now she has the liveliest, friendliest, and most beautiful pup you can imagine. All it took was some love! |
