'3 Year Old Iguana For Adoption'

My brother has a 3 year old Iguana that he won at a Greek festival. We cannot care for the Iguana, and are looking for someone who can take him in.

The Iguana is named Godzilla, 3 years old, Male, and between 3 and 4 feet long.

Price is Free, Lights and accessories available for free, the cage is large, but is also free. ( We would have to dis-assemble it to move it)

alright now that i have figured this site out, i would like to see more of the iggy. i have one now and i am looking to get another one preferably rescueing one that needs better care. If you cant care for it properly maybe we can come up with a way for me to take over for you. I am not sure about how to ship an iggy but maybe we could spit the cost or something. Where are you located at? can you post more pictures so i can show my wife too. thank you

I'll try getting a few other photos, the iguana is 3 years old and has had little training. Mostly he stays in his cage.

In case you still want him, even though he is untrained, I looked and found one possible shipping method through IPATA: www.ipata.com

We would have to drive about an hour to get him to the Shippers and then I don't know how he would get to your place.

I am interested in the Iguana, the rest of the stuff i already have. I am a lot unsure about the shipping. I have no clue what we could do to arrange this. I cannot afford to come and get him. i have been researching and it looks like if you follow the guidelines for UPS they will allow shipping and iggy with them.

The Iguana used to be handled and would ride around on My brothers Shoulder. But lately he seems to jump around a lot more. We really don’t know anything about them. My brother got him at a Festival three years ago. But hasn’t really been trying to train him. I’m sure the Iguana could be trained, but has not been trained so far.

The other day when the iguana got out of the cage I approached him for the first time, he let me pet him and I picked him up with little problem, but when I tried to move him in the cage he started to try and escape. But like I said I don’t know anything about handling them.

My Brother is to be looking into transportation fees, and shipping costs. So far I don’t know what progress he has made. The cage right now is a large wooden construction my Father and brother built with a wire mesh on all sides; I don’t think this item could be shipped due to size/shape. There are 2-3 lights and a Tree root like structure inside. (The root is where he sits most of the time) The Bowl for his food is just a plain food bowel from Pets Mart, and the water dish is a plastic rock type water dish. We don’t really want to ship him because we don’t really know what we are doing in that area, but are willing to give it a try.

One thing we found out is that in some states it is illegal to own an Iguana, so to prevent getting a Federal Offense is it legal where you are?

Thanks for taking the time to look into this. We mostly need to find someone who knows what they are doing and can help him out. He is about 3 – 3 and a half feet now too, 3 years Old. Currently named Godzilla.

If your iguana is still available, what would shipping be to Iowa City, Ia. 52245? do you know if it's a female or male? Has its tail been broken? How is its temperament, has it bitten anyone? And it looks like he or she has a sore around the lip area, is the iguana rubbing on the cage at all?

Do you still have this animal? I can probably take him when we return home to Ohio. We have to set a few things up, but I am in the process of trying to start a reptile/amphibian adoption center, and eventually move up to becoming a rescue.

i would love this iguana!!

plz. i have done loads of reasearch and spent hours reading on iggs. this would be sooo perfect. i have cared for them a few times, but only when i was "igg sitting" so this would be really cool if i could get this ig. others would cost me a fortune. and i have a pet store and market near by. also there is a vets within an hour away! so i think i would have the perfect home for this iggy!!

I have a 2 1/2-year-old female iguana who's about 2 feet long TOTAL length, but about 9 inches SVL(snout-to-vent length, which is EXCLUDING her tail).

She:

-is extremely healthy(and has had "seals of approval" from professional reptile owners)

-loves people

-has an excellent appetite

-has never had any health problems

-is breedable

-is very explorative

-is energetic

-loves attention

I'm offering her to a good home for $55(that's shipping included).

She'll come with an Exo-Terra 75-watt infrared light bulb that was used only once, and her reptile leash.

I have loved and cared for her for a long time, and hate to see her go, but can no longer care for her. She'll need an owner who knows what they're doing and can provide her with a suitable habitat, a varied diet, and plenty of exercise.
