Equine Knee Problems

I am seeking information to help a TB gelding we just acquired. He had bone chip problems and has been retired from racing. How can we best keep him comfortable?

I have a big heavy muscled yearling filly (14 months) that has bouts of her knee not locking in. This seems to appear at the time she has growth spurts. Right now she is about 14.3, 900 -950lbs and her back end is about 3 inches higher that her front end. How should I message this problem? I would be interested in knowing about her feed, stall/pasture time, just anything that would help her condition.

Thank You

Kathy Slawson

This link has some info on how to treat knee pain in horses.

I have a 4 year old QH gelding - 15.1 HH with what appears might be a displaced growth plate right front knee. The leg does not appar perfectly straight. I have been riding him lightly on and off for about 18 months. Any thoughts on long term usage and future soundness - he seems OK now, but like I say he has only had medium to light riding.
