Hi, I've had a male crowntail betta fish for about 4 months. His tummy has always been a little bloated, but it hasn't gotten any bigger (from what I've noticed) so I don't think it's dropsy. A few days ago I noticed a little white thing sticking out of his tummy. I thought it might be worms (which could explain the bloating?) and this is still there, though not longer. I researched online, and I haven't found similar conditions, the only thing anywhere close from what he has is an ovipositor!!! From the online photos, that's exactly what it looks like, but he's a male! Could it be possible that it is a female that was mistaken for a male because for the long fins and bright colors? I'm so confused as to what this could be!! If you could reply to me at my e-mail address that would be highly appreciated... THANKS! :)
