I used to have 2 ferrets. They are definatly really playful animals, and you have to provide them with things to do whenever they are not napping (which is frequently). My ferrets LOVED to get out of the cage and play in, on, and around paper grocery bags. They also loved dragging small blankets around and building nests.

My firends ferrets seem to like the chew toys that you can get for birds. They also loved piles of clothing. As I understand ferrets love to burrow.

A long time ago a friend of mine had a ferret and I can remember that thing having the best time with wrapping paper tubes, paper towel tubes and toilet paper tubes. I mean hours of entertainment. He would also sneak under the stove. Those things can really get into small spaces. It would play with it until it was just shreads. Talk about cheap entertainment.

Well I am thinking about getting a Ferret as my pet and i heard that they should play with hard plastic toys. They say that if you give them a toy that they can easily chew they could swallor it and stuff. if you go to Expertvillage.com they have some good vidoes and tips on Ferrets.

Michelle (72.80.172.24):You're right, you don't want to give them anything they can chew or rip off. Don't give them anything rubbery, they love the feel of it, but it is very unsafe. Try Foamy Fries, they are a treat and they have that rubbery feel but are ok for them to eat. But you can still let them play with stuffed animals, just when they develope wear n tear, throw them away. Also, crocheted easter eggs are good for stashing. And jingle pillows. Thats what my boy has started to like!

ANAHI (4.240.213.227):Your ferret is doing the war dance. Its a happy thing. They usually do it with their mouth open. I'm not sure what the mouth open means, but its a really good sign. She is happy and excited. Now is the perfect time to chase her around the room or grab a toy and wrestle with her!
