I really want to adopt a baby Marmoset monkey, because I have a lot of free time and I love animals. I have had tons of pets throughout my life and I would love to add a new member to my family. I want to help someone if they need any type of small monkey taken care of; therefore, I am willing to adopt one if needed. Why are you ridding of your pet? Not just that, but selling it. I don't understand people like you - acquiring and getting rid of pets the way you would get rid of old household appliances in a garage sale. Owning a pet is a serious matter, and just because it's no longer convenient for you to own this family member doesn't mean you should also profit from getting rid of it.

I have a 7 year old daughter and plenty of room for him. He will have lots of attention from us, and I stay at home, so he will never be without some one. Having seen the remarks about marmosets it looks like that most (not all) just dont know what they are talking about, maybe it would be better if they put their brain into gear before opening their mouths, It just make you look stupid, maybe a few books on the subject would help you to get a better understanding on the subject, and as for licences you do not need one to own a marmoset. all the information on what you are required to do by law will be found on the DEFRA website.

Anyone wanting a monkey for a pet clearly has not fully educated themselves regarding ALL aspects of what it means to "own" one. I have also found that people who choose to own such exotic wild pets only do so for the attention they think it will bring them and not because they truly love the animal; for if they truly loved the animal they would sacrifice there selfishness and do what's best for it by leaving it in the wild. There are severe negative ramifications to the quality of life you can provide a wild animal; and I mean quality of life according to what a monkey likes not what a human thinks a monkey would like. Please stop humanizing these beautiful creatures and let them live in there natural homes where they can thrive as they are intended to. Not to mention you are facilitating the very endangerment of the species when you show interest in having them as pets. Yes, there may be people out there who have hand raised babies that did not come directly from the forest (and I do not agree with there practices either) but anytime there is a market for a wild animal as a pet they get plucked form there forest homes in S. Africa and sold in markets for transport to america, and where do you think the parents of your monkey came from??? So if you people truly have a place in your heart for these animals you will appreciate them as they are and respect there freedom by not committing them to a life of captivity where every natural instincts are repressed. If you want something to cuddle there are thousands of DOMESTIC dogs and cats in need of adoption.

It's illegal to own a primate in the uk unless you have an exotic pet licsence and even then you have to agree to a vets service which will call every two or three weeks to make sure maintain it's phisical and mental health which costs up to £ 2000 a month not to mention the overwelming vet bills to maintain it's diet and suplements it would get in the wild, having a marmoset or any primate will ruin you're life! These animals arnt serposed to be pets they should be in the wild where they belong.
