wll aint we a mister know it all aye ricky. lol. ive seen you sign every forum up till now and you know everything. do you know if a baby capuchin needs a special monkey milk formula or can it have baby cow and gat?

also joe. yes deer cn become very friendly but they are naturally weary and timid animals and stress effects them badly. have you changed anything in there housing area lately?

it could also be breeding season. all animals become lazy and bad tempered around this time.

How old or your deer? Do you spend alot of time with them? How large is there enclosure? I have deer that I rehab and set free when they are ready. I try to stimulate them mentally as well as take care of there physical needs. If we are in the summer I freeze some fruit in a gallon jug and cut the jug off after it has frozen to feed them. In the winter I give them trees and acorns and cobbed corn to simulate what they would forage. I also have very large rocks for them to play king of the moutain on. Believe it or not they do play. I spend a lot of time with them even in the winter. They look forward to the time. I give them every day apples, sweet potatoes, acorns, cobbed corn, pears, ect. Place the food where they have to look for it a bit. They would be doing that in the wild. Good luck.

i have 2 pet deer. It seems like they are pretty friendly all the time. But somedays i dont play with them alot and they seem mad at me the next day. But they get over it quickly after i give them candy. THey love it. SO try to play with them more. Just not in breeding season if they are bucks

I have a pet deer. She was an orphan and we have raised her since the day she was born. We live in the woods so she is free to roam like a regular deer. She stays on our property most of the time. We have 16 acres of woods and clear cut. She likes to hang out with us when we are home and loves to come in the house and lay on the couch and watch basketball. She will be one year old on May 19, 2003. She is pretty and healthy but I am wondering if she is at risk for having worms of any kind. Does anyone know if I should be giving her anything , natural, to keep her free of parasites etc. Or is she taking care of that herself with her natural foraging? Thanks for reading. Sally

but i dont no what to feed it and how many times

Okay. Im a proffesional. If u find a hurt deer you can call a wildlife rehabilitation center or, if you no what ur doing and you know ur stuff, if its a hurt leg, make sure its not comepletley shattered but give it a splint and let it heal the old fashioned way because vets are expensive and deer arent endangered. Candy is a bad way to treat your deer because this can lead to diabetes. Bananas are sweet and they love them mushed up or added to their milk. If you find an abandoned fawn that is a few days old NO SOLID FOOD, and whole cows milk can have digestion problems.Baby fawns go through two containers of milk a day. You can use three cups of goat milk and one cup of cow's milk. All goat milk is preferable.

A newborn fawn is the size of two Chihuahuas. It's important to add seven drops of lactate as well to the formula. If you have a young fawn, do not add anything solid. When they come to the height of ur waist, add some solid food to the formula such as baby rice or baby cereal. Mix it well with water until it has a pudding-like consistency. Deer love sweet tastes, and bananas are always a good source of sweetness. For older deer, you can add a banana, but be sure to beat it with a fork until it liquefies. You can put it into a blender or use a mixer and stir it up -- but make sure the banana seeds don't clog the nipple of the bottle you use. give deer freedom. a leash will freak it out. deer are like horse, freedom. a long plain of graasland or woods. If u just found a hurt deer and it runs off when it is healed, its wild instincts are still there so dont go looking for ir.
