Many people are finding advertisements for Pet Monkeys that will be shipped to you from Cameroon.

There are only two problems you will encounter here:

1) It is a complete fraud. Whatever money you send will be gone forever, and you will never be sent a monkey. After you make the initial payment you might get requests for further payments for various problems. You may be sent "tracking numbers". You may be told to put a "password" on your western union payment. None of these things will get you a monkey or protect your money.

2) *IF* (and isn't gonna happen)... IF someone ACTUALLY SENT you a monkey, it would be seized by the U.S. Customs Service as you cannot import monkeys as pets. There is also a mountain of paperwork and liceneses required to import monkeys for legitimate purposes.

Save your money... so not order a monkey or any other animal from outside the United States (or from anyone in the United States that will have it sent from outside the United States)....

and you probably don't want to order any pet... go find your pets at a local shelter where you can get it know it in person first.

Can you please help my. I order a capuchin monkey through your adds in cameroon, pay for it and did not received it. The lady that is supposed to be the breader is called Michelle, her husband is Pascal Sakam. The guy from Jet Pet Express is called Sandy and the answer something Orange when I call. Me and Michelle had an agreement that I pay have of the money and the rest at delivery. I pay in the R 2 500,00 like we agree on Thursday the 7th of September, the monkey was supposed to be delivered Friday the 8th of September, I did not happen. Michelle called me and said the huminidy is too high, the monkey cannot fly but I will defenitely receive the monkey on Monday. Then the so called Jet Pet Express calls me and say they have to deliver the monkey and I have to pay R 1500.00 South African Rand for taxes, the monkey is stucked in Botswana, they keep her their because I have to pay the tax first. After I pay the breeder R 2 500.00 for the monkey. Then they call me again on Thursday the 14th of September, convince me that they have to rescheduled the flight and I have to pay another R 1 500.00 for the flight to take off.All by money gram in South-Africa. Unfortunately I did not receive the monkey and it seems that they take me for a ride. I lost all my money and was taking for a ride. Untill now no monkey, no money, Michelle and Jet Pet Express don't answer their phones, sms or e-mail. The particulars of the breeder are as follows:

You will * NEVER * receive a monkey from Cameroon or any place else! You will probably * NEVER * receive a dog or other animal either.

It does not matter what these people say. There are no animals for you, only money for them.

If you have any doubts call the Cameroon Embassy or the U.S. Customs Service to find out about importing monkeys for pets.

How does anyone expect to be shipped such an item? I mean wouldnt it be stopped by customs anyway? I dont think we can even get exotic animals from other countries like that.

Customs will stop the monkey (and maybe even fine you)... but there are no monkeys so no worry.

Don't buy anything online unless you use your credit card so you can dispute it with your bank if you don't get anything.

You are always safe buying online with a credit card. If you don't receive the merchandise, you can dispute the transaction with your bank and get your money back.

That is why those selling monkeys want the money by Western Union. There are no refunds with Western Union.

I absolutely agree with Kabir though. Get a pet that you've seen and handled. There's no way to judge of the pets personality is good for you unless you are ther in person with it.

Before you decide to buy ANY exotic pet you need to do some research. Find out first if they can even be brought in to your country. Then, can you have them in your area? After that you need to check about licensing and any kind of special insurance or other requirements. Then and ONLY then if all is ok should you start looking for one. And if they are legal in your country then chances are there is someone in your country who has them for sale. Go see them, the animals and the environment they are being raised in. Pick one you like that gets along with you in person.

If you are buying from the internet, the research the seller, find out if they are licensed and anything else you can. And any seller that wants Western Union is probably scamming you. Reputable breeders and handlers have reputable payment plans and usually will take credit cards, PayPal and other payments. Money orders and Western Union are for scammers.

I recently sent over $1800.00 to cameroon airlines and to the sender Mr. Camela Magan for a baby capuhin monkey. I was sent all of her permits, and she made it to france 2 times and was sent back to cameroon so i was told, the airport has been very rude to me and sometimes they will answer my messages and take my phone calls but other times they want. The sender has lied to me so many times telling me she is on her way and everything will be ok. But everything is not ok. This was all the money we had for our 2 daughters for christmas and now its gone and so are my daughters christmas this year. I have been in contact with the American Embassy in Cameroon, and the United States International Air Travel, I'm pressing charges on the sender Camela Magan and anyone else that is involved in this matter. So don't buy anything from Cameroon because they all lie to you.

There is a guy named Victor Ngwati from Cameroon who claims to send capuchin monkeys to people in the US for $800.00 to $1200.00 he claims to fly them through some airport there called city pet express. HE IS FRAUD I did not send him money and I am hoping no one else does either you will not receive anything but empty pockets.. Do your research...

Those fraud people are getting even more wise, they will pretend to be in your country, and ask to send money for deposit... ask to see the monkey first in person and the answer will be NO, it's just commun sence not to be fraud, use your head and not your hart to get a monkey :)

please do not trust DR GORDON FROM JAHANNESBURG he was giving a capuchin girl (lily) for adoption of course i jumped st the chance but he wanted shippin fee i said that i wouldent pay untill i see the monkey so he agrred to pay the shipping fee but said when i get to the airport i had to pay £300 so i agreed he gave me all her flight information threw air france and even someone from this so called air france (van shirly) manager emailed me with info of lily's flight so i was pretty sure she was coming he said she would be there at 4.am so i went to the airport but there was no such flight they said it could be the 7.50 flight so i waited but she dident turn up after several hours of waiting in the airport i decided to go home i had an email from a man claiming to be the international airline vet bagio sean buchin was his name he even had a uk number he said that my pet monkey has arrived and all her paperwork permits and heakth check was fine if i send 300 threw western union i could collect her but he would not give me an address so i told him my deal was to see the monkey first after this non of them would repley any of my emial so obviously i knew this was a scam a very convincing one so if this sound familer BEAWARE and look out for all the names in my message. good luck

they all seem so nice they i have a friend from cameroon and they said they couldnt even bring there pets here when they came what makes us think we could get anything from there i was took for $700.00 and no monkey we get so happy and thinking we are geting something that were not if you cant get it here we dont need it.so sorry for everyones loss p.s they need to stop saying God bless you in their e-mails because they will all go to hell for this

I just had this very thing happen to me only I did not buy the monkey when she said it was comming from Camroon. Exotic or other wise can not be brought into the states ! Please stop falling for these scams and take the time to research....If it is a pet monkey you really want respect it enough to know your rights and responsiblity in being a monkey owner. Even when purchasing a exotic put in the states some states still do not allow them and some require permits. So by all means take the time to check into the laws before throwing you money out the window.

I had this happen to me but Western Union stoped it for me and told me it was a scam. I thank them for it, I would have lost 3000. I still buy everything only but only use paypal, order from in the usa (unless its ebay) and never send anyone you don;t know a moneyorder, check, or cash.

I'm sorry this happens to alot of us, people need to get a job and stop scaming.

Hi there, I was researching recently on Capuchin monkeys, and a man was selling a girl named lily for $155.00 U.S., he claimes he had just moved from the U.S. and lily who was 10 weeks old did not like the weather in Cameroon and wanted to give her a good home and hte $155.00 was only for shipping, no extra costs. Then when I wired the money through WU he asked me for an additional $250.00 U.S. because the airpet shipping airline would not take her in a wooden crate and he had to purchase an airconditioned crate I told him I did not have that kind of money and the $155.00 was agreed apon so he asked for $100.00 and he would cover the difference. Of coarse being stupid I sent through WU another $100 the next day I had a call from Fombu Willy letting me know that she is in France and they want a $500.00 refundable insurance deposite or they will send her to the zoo, or ship her back to Cameroon. I told him I had no other funds available and if he wanted to pay for the $500.00 refundable insurance and once she arrives to Canada he would receive that money backthen he tried to see if he could get $100.00 and see if he could get the rest from a friend. I then replied that I have contacted the France airport and there is no such airpet shipment plane and no airline has come in from Cameroon, he then hung up the phone and I haven't heard back since and he hasn't returned any of my e-mails. DO NOT PRUCHASE ANYTHING FROM CAMEROON THEY ARE ALL JUST SCAMMERS!!!
