There is a grizzly bear in my back yard how do i get him to leave and not come back.

My recommendation would be to stop feeding him!

Comment #2 najdoyza from the mountains -

There really isn't a whole lot you can do to change a bears mind. Make sure that there isn't anything he can eat so there's nothing to draw him into your yard. If you have neighbors nearby also let them know. Also make sure that your pets have an area they can get to that the bear can't get into like a pet doot into the house so they can get away. Bears are often thought of as herbivores, but that's not true. They will eat meat if they can get it and if your pets are available and easy to catch thats what they will do. But they are basically not going to expend a lot of energy chasing them. If the animal is threatening or belligerent or trying to break into your house then it's time to call the authorities and have the animal caught and relocated.

Comment #3 wildcard from the swamp -

Actually if you are in a residential neighborhood then you should call the local animal control as soon as you spot the animal a second or third time. If the animal is hanging around then it's looking for easy food and it could easily become a pet eating menace or a really destructive vandal - or both. Animal control usually traps and relocates them to an area safer for both you and them unless it's a frequent offender animal that has proven itself dangerous. Don't wait to find out the hard way, report it now.

Sheesh.your mean.just leave it alone

If it's hungry let him eat and leave him alone.

Humans already built houses on his land so they have no where else to go anyway.

well i think that you should give it all of your old food and then it will leave ..... jk dont feed it and call the animal catchers

OMG I feel your pain. I suggest shooting it with an airsoft gun cuz its a low power BB gun. The gun shoots plastic BBs so it will not hurt the bear. But it sounds like u want to get rid of it for good so I suggest maybe a shot gun or and ak 47 better yet a P90 or screw it a TANK! LOL HAHAHA I LOVE THIS FORUM FOR ITS RANDOM SELLINGS and crazy questions!

U much lucky, he sound of good pet! U put saddle on him, ride him like teh horse, he eat pplz u no like 4 u. If u no want him in yard, u r feed him u little sister and he full belly so leav.

Shoot it in the ass with a cheap paintball gun. They're designed to be fired by humans at human, it won't permenantly injure the animal, but after two or three times it will learn not to go there again.

Shoot it with a real gun you idiot...

Do not shoot it with a toy gun of any kind.Call the dept of wildlife. seriously I am a hunter, and there are only a handful of animals in the world that will hunt humans and that is one of them, if it eats food that smells of human then it will smell humans as food. If you live in Alaska, shoot it, High powered rifle, 30 cal or larger heart lung shot, behind front leg mid-low body. But if you are in Alaska you know that. Anywhere else call the game dept. However i think this may be a joke.

i have a vicious mangina who eats bears like french fries! and i like french fries so cover the mangina with ketchup and mmmmmmmm french fries so bring on the grizzly bear and your p90 shotgun cuz my mangina is very bulletproof, otherthan that i wanna purchase a grizzly bear probably the stupidest idea ever but would totally enjoy my time with it til it eats me. only if its cheap like PBR

Joe, DO NOT take the advice of comments #7, #9 and #10. That kind of advice will get you killed real quick. NEVER NEVER NEVER toy with a wild bear! Something like a grizzly bear is harder to kill than most folks think it is. And an injured or harassed bear is more dangerous than most folks think it is. If the bear is causing no problem for the neighborhood, then leave the bear be. If a bear is a problem, then your state game and fish commission(or what ever your state has) can be called to relocate the bear.

As for comments #12 and #13, people who have wild animals as pets, in most cases, obtain them from sources where those animals have been born and raised in captivity and are use to humans. Even still it must be remembered they are still wild animals. But trying to make a pet out of a bear who grew up in the wild is a suicide mission. It's just about the only way to word it. If you have a death wish, go ahead and mess with a grizzly bear who grew up in the wild and has never been around humans. You'ld best have your affairs in order because he'll grant that wish for you really quick.
