I have a pet rock at home and i was wondering what a pet rock would eat.

Well, my son has quite a few pet rocks, and they seem to prefer some fresh water, and the occasional sprinkle of sand. We tried them with some grass and leaves, but they ignored it.

I think a more important question is how to clean your pet rock. You don't want to use a strong soap so you don't burn its skin... but you need something that will kill the germs.

Our family washes their pet rocks in a light bleach solution before bringing them indoors. That and a soft nylon brush scrubbing seem to be all they really need, and then the occasional roll through the sprinkler if they are outdoor pets.

I used to have a pet rock but it got to big and i have to let it loose into the wild. It really broke my heart that day but i had to do it. I hope he is still alive.

Pet Rocks are kinda of a joke.A pet rock is simply... a ROCK. Any rock that you claim as your "pet". A few years (decades) ago they were a big fad in the United States. I suppose someone was marketing them.

Kids still like the pet rock idea. I think it is cute to do with kids. They could decorate or paint their pet rock. As far as feeding them, maybe some glitter or sand.
Comment #8 Jeanette from AZ -
I think it's a cute idea too. It gives the child a creative way of expressing themselves in however way they want to decorate it and call it "their own".

I plan on making pet rocks with my little ones soon. The painting and decorations are like an easter egg or craving a pumpkin. Its a nice activity with the kids. :)

Our pet rock is the best. It doesn't make noise. It doesn't whine at the door to go out. It doesn't beg for food at the table. It doesn't destroy the house when we leave it alone. I am considering getting another pet rock to keep the first one company. Our pet rock is named Mr. Salt (Blue's Clues). We give him a bath everyday with a little soap and water. However he is a little spoiled when it comes to food. He won't eat anything but lobster, shrimp, steak, and drinks bottled water. He is a little high maintenance but we love him anyway.

Pet rocks are cute. I did them with my 4th grade science students. We went out of the playground, gathered rocks, analyzed the rocks, cleaned them and painted them. Then we planted some flowers in pots in the classroom and put them in the window and the students put the personalized rocks under the flowers in the dirt. It turned out very cute!

I have a pet rock. Her name is Suzie. I love her ever so much. She is the best pet you could ever have. I created her a bed and a tv and a jaccuzi. My pet rock will be mine forever. I hope she doesn't die or get lonely. I am a pet rock expert [or so called]! I sure hope Suzie is satisfied. I am afraid I spoil Suzie too much but she enjoys everything we do. Got to go. Your Friend, Emma

WHAT A STUPID IDEA, HEY IM GOING TO STROKE A ROCK LOLOL!!!!
ASizzle, Pet rocks are not a stupid idea. If someone has alergies to pet hair then it is always nice to have a pet you can take semi-care of. And besides if you are lazy...like me...and you don't want a pet you have to feed or clean up after then a pet rock is a great idea to concider for your pet. Silima. To everyone else: I have a pet rock around my house somewhere...she seems to like to play Hide & Seek and she is a good hider...or I'm a bad seeker...Anyways. Her name is Astera and I have been her owner for 12 years. She gets very jealous of my cats Nermal and Luna, why do you think she is so jealous? Silima P.S. My little sister and I both own pet rocks of our own. I named my rock Chocono Roccy Korc, because it's a rock and it looks a lot like chocolate (my sister thought it was chocolate for three days, even though she already knew it was not). And my sister named her rock Ariz Midseent Strafe. We hoped to take really good care of rocks. To start with, we gave them faces and little ribbons. Also, they have their own house, Christmas themed, and a working TV (Gameboy Advance SP, it's mine), now all we need is some videos. Please give the amateur (sp?) rock owners some hints on how to properly take care of their rocks... Nataki's Best Friend - Over and out.

my pet rock is named Rossetta, after the Rosetta Stone. She watches the movie StoneHedge everyday after a dinner of salt, pepper, and sand, with water. She has her own little house with all kinds of funiture and working lights and heating system. I bought it on ebay.

For pet rock reproduction use a large hammer to split your one pet rock into many! • Page 1 (Original Post) • Page 2 • Page 3 • Page 4 • Page 5 • Page 6 • Page 103 (Newest Replies) •
