My older lab has thyroid disease. It started out with that she was losing the fur on her nose. She also became very lazy and tired all the time. The next sign was she was gaining weight, a lot of weight. At one point she was well over 100 pounds. We took her to the vet several times and she was finally diagnosed with thyroid disease. She is now on medication twice a day to control the thyroid. All the fur has grown back on her nose and she is at a much healthier weight. She has her energy back and is like to run in the backyard.

It's amazing how many similar problems pets and people can have. Glad to hear that she's doing fine now.
