Rhodesian Ridgeback

Many years ago while travelling in South Africa we saw many largish brown dogs with unusual ridges running down the middle of their backs. As far as I recall they were known as Rhodesian Ridgebacks. Does anyone know whether these are still bred and what they are called nowadays? I imagine that since the country Rhodesia has long since changed its name to Zimbabwe, that name is no longer used!
