My dog eats my kittens poo

For the past 3 days my dog who is a kelpie x cattle dog has been eating my kittend poo. He gets fed in the morning and evening and is given a bone once a week. I would like to know if anyone has encountered this problem before. If you have what was your solution? Any ideas would be great as I hate the smell in my dogs mouth when I am with him.
