Loss of a great pet

I recently lost my favorite dog to getting hit by a car. It seems that no matter how hard I tried to train him I could never break his free spirit to chase things. He saw a dog across the street and barrelled in front of a car.I only wish the driver had the courtesy to stop since he was driving well over the posted speed limit. He never even blinked an eye. luckily for my dog he was killed instantly and didn't suffer. This happened two weeks ago and I am still brought to my knees with grief when I see his paw prints in the mud outside or find one of his hairs somewhere. He was a mixed breed but the best dog I ever had. He never growled at anything in his three years of life and was my very best friend. I know the pain will ease eventually but I just don't understand how people can hit someone's pet and never even have the courtesy to say they're sorry.

That is so sad. I'm so sorry for your loss. Our beloved family dog drowned in my parents' pool about five years ago. It was really tough on the family, we had her for about 15 years. Two of my sisters recently had to put their dogs down due to sickness. Dogs truly are part of the family.

I don't even want to think about the day that I lose either one of my dogs. My husband and I had to put down his dog a while back that he got when he was a teenager and that was horrible. She was just old and had enough. Our 2 big babies are definitely part of the family. They are spoiled rotten but that is why we got them in the first place to be part of our family.
