I bet we've all heard stories of the crazy old woman living alone with 70 cats. Cats, especially an abundance of them, seem to indicate madness or even paranormal things. How many cats is too many? I have had 4 cats at one time before, and that was my limit for my relatively small house.

My limit was about 12. When we had 5 cats my ex-wife would feed them breakfast all in seperate bowls. Me... I'm happy to let all my cats fight over one food bowl. I had one cat that would use its paw to hold my other cats head to the floor so she could eat undistrubed.

Lol! I can just picture it! That is hilarious. BUt really, with 5 cats, you would need a pretty big bowl for them to fight over. When I had 4 cats, I had two bowls. They established a pecking order quickly.

This is such an interesting topic. I only have one at present, but I wouldn't mind getting a second one. I live in a very small home so I think two would be my limit at this time. Now, if I was to purchase a farm....

I had a high school friend who had close to 10 cats. Her Mom was a softie and always felt sorry for the stray cats around the neighborhood so she took them in. I always hated going over to her house..it always smelled funky over there.
