Our cat seems to be having some signs of having her kittens. we think for sure theyre coming tonight. for one she's humongously huge in the belly. for #2 she's meowing like crazy. #3 she's being all lovey all the sudden. #4 she had a big ball of mucus/puss or whatever it was down there, i think you know what im talking about. we think she'll deliver around 1 o'clock a.m. b/c she started to have contractions around nine p.m. any advise? if so please e-mail us. thank you for your time and help.

sincerely,

tcegm

should i put my cat in a big box with some blankets so she

would be comfortable and not try to hide and have her kittens?

and how do i know when she feels threatened so i can back off i

wouldn't want her to stop the birthing process?

I am cat sitting (for a few months) a very sweet cat named Sunami and she is very very very pregnant. We've had her for about 2 weeks now and she is used to us and very friendly. Will the move to a new home cause any stress?? I have my own cats and they have had kittens before but never inside, so I'm really not sure what to look for. She has been overly affectionate today and meowing a little more than usual. Is that a good sign? I am on vacation from work right now and really hoping she will have them before I return on Wednesday!! Keep your fingures crossed for me! :)

I was right! Sunami delivered 5 kittens last night! She started having contractions while she was lying in bed with me and when the first kitten really started to come she sort of freaked out and was flopping all over the bed. I have scratches all over my hands where i was trying to calm her. But then she jumped off the bed and went to the closet where i had made a basket for her. I stayed up with her while she delivered the first three and then I went to bed because i thought she was done. Wrong! But we have 5 brand new beautiful, healthy babies! :)

Hi everyone! I have a little female cat and the reason that im here is because i was just looking 4 some clues about how do i know when its the time.... and 4 whet ive read i dont think she's long to go.... She's almost a year, Jessie its her name, she's very loving, and she's even more loving now, she doesn't want to go out anymore, she stays home and sleeps most of the time, eats like mad, and meows a lot too.She has her box in the uttility room, i think she has enough room there... Its the first time that we have a pet in the house and the kids are just as anxious as i am i hope everything goes fine for my baby.

I'll let u know in a few days! Thanks. :p

Hello everyone. The questions and answers posted here have been very helpful.

I too have a cat who is very pregnant. This is the first time I have ever witnessed anything like this. I believe she is ready to have her kittens very soon.

I had a problem with her getting stolen since she became pregnant and then found out who took her. They brought her back and she seems fine. I can still feel the kittens when I rub her belly. She is VERY effectionate, and as everyone else has said, somewhat overly effectionate. As a matter of fact, I had to stop typing because she jumped in my lap. HA HA !!

I think I'm ready for this, a lady told me yesterday that my cat will take care of everything. All I have to do is feed her and make sure she has plenty of water to drink. So, I'm looking forward to this experience. God bless each of you pet owners, and your cat. :)

My cat Love (she has a heart shaped spot on her back) had 3 kittens back in oct. 06. Her belly wasnt very big and she didnt change her normal habits to much. She went two weeks overdue and gave no signs of going into labor. I woke up one morning and had kittens under the table next to my bed. She was a great mom and knew just what to do. One kitten died at three weeks old because of a birth defect. I kept the other two. The vet told me i couldnt spay Love until she stoped nursing so I waited. She nursed her kittens regularly for almost five months, so I thought she was never going to stop. Then it happened, she ran out the door sceaming down the road, she was in heat. I knew at that point I was getting more kittens. Here we are 8 weeks later and she is huge and can hardly move. She's three times the size she was last time. She spends most of her time sleeping on the floor of the hallway or sleeping on the kitchen table. I made her a box and put it in my room. She got in it a few times, but didn't stay in it more than a few seconds. I just hope she doesn't have them on the kitchen table.

My family and I found a stray cat in November. She was really small, and scared, but over the months she has become more friendly. She used be with us a lot. But now is somewhere. We noticed she was really fat and resting more. This morning we all noticed she was really skinny! Either she has a really serious workout routine or she had kittens! If she did have kittens where are they? Since she is so young do you think she can take care of them? We were wondering if we could find them, but would that affect them growing? Should we give her extra treatment and extra food, since she has to feed herself and kittens? Please help us take good care of Pepper.

My cat Isebella is about a year and a half old well shes pregnate. Belly round , nippels enlarged all the sighns that I looked up on the internet... Well today I was scratching her back (most cats love this and usually raise their butts 4 some reason) Well then I noticed not alot but enough to tell that she had a little blood down there if u know what I mean not any comeing out but just enough that I could tell it was near the surface. Dose that mean shes having a misscarage or is she about to have kittens soon??????? Is this normal or something I should be worried about????? someone read this message and answer back soon. I mean shes just sleeping right now and dosen't seem upset but I want 2 make sure...

Comment #49 Anja from Oklahoma city -

Hi there,

my cat is now 63 days pregnant and should give birth in the next 4 days. But there are no signs. She keeps sleeping all day and i'm tired of waiting. Today she had a change in her behaveoir. She was hiding in dark spots and scratching the carpet. But still nothing. She also is eating like normal, no milk yet etc. What you think how long that can take, till they come?
