Biting Cat

I have a 1 year old Siamese-mix cat that I got from the Humane Society this past summer and she bites a lot. She likes to be held, but after a few minutes she starts biting for no apparent reason. And she bites hard. We do not tease her and she doesn't act mad - she's a happy, playful cat. When she does this we put her down and walk away. But she hasn't outgrown this behavior. We love her and she loves us. Other than this, she is a sweet and loving cat. Why does she bite so much?

hello

my cat Squee likes to bite gently too and I know how it is

you got it from a Humane society so its likely the cat has been abused before you got to it.

Thats ok you just have to let the animal know that its NOT ok to bite. Blowing on their face is one thing to deter them or staying away from sensative areas that cats see as attack zones like the throat and stomache. I also make a "SSSSSS" sound which makes my cats know that its not ok. Its very effective.

thats only a recomendation and its really helped me when dealing with feral cats.

good luck.
