I am looking for pairs of crows for reintroduction into a parkland here, they once numbered in the many thousands just here in this area. Now only an occasional pair are spotted. I am sure millions have perished due to virus.

It is important that their population increases as the hawks have totally overwhelmed the area. Woodpeckers have been crushed and all the orioles killed. Crows were an excellent warning and predator discouragement, so these are desperately needed here.

Hopefully survivors will be somewhat resistant to the WNVirus and can once again be guarding our parkland against the alarming attacks of the predator birds.

Kindly inform me as to the availability of these birds. Thank you.

Wow, had never known crows could act as predator existence indicators. Does that happen by virtue of them just appearing or by the sound they make on sensing danger? Efforts to save it from extinction need to be aplauded. I had not heard that they could be adopted as pet birds until I stumbled upon this forum. I particularly find their appearance not really eye-catchy. The prescence of hawks is another menace but if they have been proven to control the latter, well.....Have you tried to ask around?

I know that crows can be kept as pets but it is not as popular as other types of pet birds. Crows are noisy and are usually associated with darkness and bad luck. It's squawk is scary if you'll ask me. I would prefer a parrot or a pigeon rather than a crow. If exotic and weird animals are your thing then I can suggest you go with iguanas, but no snakes please.
People actually sell crows? this is surely news to me.
Why would one need to purchase a crow? Can't they just put up a field of vegetation which would attract a crow and attempt to capture one or a few?
Would this not be cheaper than actually going out and paying for a crow with one's own cash? I am sure that a farm would be, at least, willing to sponsor a small nursery, undoubtedly so.
Sure cheap is an option, but cheap does not always help when it comes to efficiency, indeed.

So a crow, I just wonder why people in this forum is interested in adopting or buying crows. When I see crows I always recall how my grandfather would shoo them away from our farm where those crows would make themselves happy by eating our crops, most are corns. So I just wonder why there are people who would want to adopt those farm wreckers. But anyway, good luck on your search.
A crow for pet, it is a little strange for me, why crows? What are with those crows that makes you think of adopting them as pets. Anyway, hope that you can be able to finally got yourself a crow for pet. I have to say that birds are one of the most favorite pet of people but crows.. Have a good day everyone, and keep those posts coming in.

I have 7 crows that hang out in a huge oak tree across from my business. I feed them all the leftovers from the fridge almost every day. They give me much pleasure to watch as I can see them through the window from my office as I glance over the screen of my computer while they are feeding. They know me very well. They know my face. They know my van. They can count to 7. They are very smart. By feeding them they have no need to rob the song birds of their babys from their nests and eat them. They actually don't like raw dry corn. They love donuts and any kind of cake not much on bananas. They love grapes & 1/4 slices of bread they can fly off with and eat in private. In the fall several merders of crows all get together and have some kind of reunion or something they are awsome.
