I have a male Cardinal that has been tapping and walking up my windows around my house for the last two weeks from sun up till sundown what in the world is he trying to tell me? We have followed him to his nest no mate or eggs to be found thought maybe his mate died but no sign of that. Please doesanyone know what this means?

I have had the same thing at my house although now it has been a month. It follows us around the house, but mostly comes to one particular window. Once I see it he flys to near by tree.

Some say they are coming as the bearer of good news, but I want to know if there is a scientific reason.

There is no cause for worry unless of course it persists in its behavior. It could have lost its mate and is as a result looking for a place to put up. Of course if it were me, I would be perturbed if it kept coming to the same window. Unless you are superstitious, consult from the professionals but you can also monitor its behavior for a while..it could soon go away.
