I heard putting a few drows of mineral oil in your cats ears and using a cutip to clean them will get rid of mites. Has anyone heard of this?

Yep, my vet told me that. Mites can't breathe when they are coated in oil so they tend to let loose of the animal and can be rubbed off or removed with a q-tip. Cats and dogs aren't the only animals to get mites. There are also mites that go after reptiles and snakes and baby oil gets rid of them.

I have never used baby oil on my reptiles. On the rare occasion when do they do get mites I only use a specialized reptile mite spray. You have to be careful about what you use on reptile. Some chemicals can irritate their skin.

I have never heard of this before and it sounds absolutely bizarre, in fact. But crazier stuff has been true.
